Kare Williams
Kare’ Williams is an artist born and raised in Southeast, Washington DC. His work explores the ideas of narrative and storytelling through the mediums of painting, video, and sculpture. His work is characterized by the normality of the low and middle class in which identity plays an important role as an African American male. By taking daily life as subject matter he provides commentary on the everyday aesthetic of the middle class and African American culture. He starts every painting with a reflection of himself, generating images using methods of painting and collage that responds to a variety of social and visual systems. After earning his BFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design; his work has been featured in Suboart Magazine in their April 2024 issue for emerging artists, and collected by numerous private collections throughout the United States such as the Fulton County Public Art Fund and The American Heart Association. Kare’ now resides in Chicago where he continues his active studio practice.
